Built: XVI-XIX

Reconstructed in the 15th century from a warehouse, St. John’s Church in Haapsalu is unique for its north-south orientation. Notable interior elements include the 5m high stone altar and the wooden pulpit. St. John’s has served the local Estonian congregation, with burial places for city commoners under its floor and in the yard. The bell in the church tower is one of the oldest in Estonia and the oldest in Lääne County.
