Dear Wayfarer,

When we take to the road, we hope to collect new experiences, find something valuable, achieve a worthy goal. In some sense, we are always on a hunt for a treasure, be it something material or spiritual, temporal or eternal. Are we able to find it; can we even notice it?

Estonia’s roads lead us to many treasure chests, to sanctums that embody hundreds of years of history and heritage of Estonian people, as well as human desires and prayers and a timeless message of God’s love. The gold of faith that is kept here will not diminish when it is distributed, it can only increase.

While our soil does not contain silver or gold, the sanctums and prayer houses make Estonia a rich place for any traveller. The doors are open; the sanctums are waiting – with all their artwork and their message. Even a brief moment of silence here can be better than a thousand moments elsewhere, because this is a moment dedicated to something truly grand and magnificent.

May this guidebook serve you as a humble road sign on your journey of discovery! Good luck on your journey and arrival!
